A native of Japan, Kimihiro Yasaka holds a Master’s degree in Piano Solo Performance under the supervision of Professor Kyoko Hashimoto at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University. During his study at McGill, He has received the Yamaha Canada scholarship, the Ellen Ballon Piano Scholarship, Schulich School of Music Award in Memory of Jeffrey Campbell, and Lubka Kolessa Award. His former coaches include Elizabeth Dolin, Douglas McNabney, Claude Richard, Vladimir Landsman, Alain Desgagné Sanford Sylvan, Alexis Hauser, and Denys Bouliane.
Mr. Yasaka is a recipient of Vivacité Montréal grant (Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec ) in 2012 and 2013.
Mr. Yasaka has been giving private lessons and teaching students of all ages and levels. Piano classes consist of one–on-one private classes. Throughout the year, there are special group classes & activities. Those who wish to participate in RCM or McGill Conservatory exam are welcome.
