Teaching private piano lessons for beginner to intermediate levels, from ages 6 to adult. Voice lessons from ages 11 to adult. Lessons are conducted onsite in my personal music studio. Skype Lessons are also available. The goals of my studio are to provide a fun and musical environment to motivate the student to become the best musician they can be. Whether the goal is to learn the basic concepts of music theory, playing or singing for your own enjoyment, developing performance technique, public speaking, preparing for a music career through the college process, or generally feeling more confident - our time together will be spent developing these traits. I tailor my lessons to each student's goals. Some of the things we use in the studio to heighten the learning experience is technology. Students will have the opportunity to use such pedagogical programs as Home Concert Xtreme, SmartMusic, and Classroom Maestro to help develop musicality. Areas of focus: sightreading, transposition, scales & chord structure, harmonization, and creative composition. I relate these ideas in a non-stress yet motivating climate. In addition to musical skills, my "keys" to success are communication and fun! Recitals are conducted twice a year, as well as, participating in various Festivals, hosted by the local Texas Music Teachers Association and Texas Federation of Music Clubs. Participation is not mandatory, but allows the student to perform in a variety of environments. Looking forward to working with you! Title:  recommendation for Mariam McFalls
Testimonial:  Mariam has taught piano to both my son (16) and daughter (14) for more than 5 years now. We absolutely LOVE Mariam! She is immensely patient, always cheerful, and she makes lessons fun! Through the years, she has gently challenged my children and they have progressed wonderfully. In addition to requiring her students to learn classical pieces, Mariam allows them to play popular songs, thus adding to the “fun” dimension. Mariam’s zest for life is beautiful and infectious; she has influenced both my children in countless positive ways!

Title:  reccomendation for Mariam McFalls
Testimonial:  Both of my kids have taken piano lessons with Ms. Mariam and they all love her. She can tell where the kids are and customize their lessons according to their levels. Her lesson is a combination of technique practice, project and music theory, which looks very comprehensive to me. Ms. Mariam is also a very pleasant lady to deal with and my kids don’t feel any stress with her. Because of that my son always want to talk with her during the lesson. Not only does she know how to communicate with him but she also knows how to cut it out and control time, making it a solid 30 minutes lesson. My kids made progress smoothly, steadily and more quickly than I expected. They feel good about it and this, in return, motivated them to go on. Other things I have noticed about her is that she is very efficient and organized. She remembered to answer every single question and request from me, and that is impressive to me. Her personality, skills and experiences make her a great music teacher. I ‘d like to recommend her to anyone who wants to take piano lessons.

Title:  recommendation for Mariam McFalls
Testimonial:  I would highly recommend Mariam McFalls (or \"Miss Mariam\" as my son loves to call her). He is a special needs kiddo (on the autism spectrum). She has been amazing in working with him patiently and tailoring the lessons to his level. We are lucky to have her in our neighborhood here in Austin!

Title:  Reference Letter for Mariam McFalls
Testimonial:  I have been a piano student of Mariam McFalls for approximately 3 years. I have also studied voice with her for about a year. In addition, Mariam has taught both of my sons piano. I can\'t imagine a better piano & voice teacher for children, teenagers, & adults. Although I took piano lessons as a child, I realized, as an adult, that it was really a dream of mine to learn to play the piano. Mariam\'s easy-going manner and sense of humor put me at ease immediately. She truly makes learning fun! She is also very supportive & genuinely interested in helping me progress, not only with piano, but also with music theory. I have remained her piano student, even after she moved to Austin from League City. We now do our lessons by skype! I enthusiastically recommend Mariam McFalls to anyone who is looking for a wonderful teacher of piano and voice. Please feel free to contact me at 281-630-3176 or
