BA in Applied Music: Piano
Rocky Mountain College, Billings, Montana
The original purpose of music was to bring glory
to God. My purpose in teaching is to teach students
to play so that they can return thanks to Him for
the talent He has given them. Playing the piano
is fun and exciting, and the greatest joy I get
is watching "the lights come on" for students
when they discover a new concept or have success
in overcoming a difficult passage.
I have taught piano for 28 years and have played
for 35. I play for Praise Team at church and have
had many years experience accompanying various soloists
and instrumentalists. I teach students in all levels,
from early elementary through advanced, ages 6-75.
It's never too late to learn!!
I do not use any one particular method book, preferring
to tailor the method to the needs of the student.
Every student is an individual, and I do not subscribe
to the "one book fits all" theory. I teach
"classical"-all levels, jazz, pop, hymns,
contemporary Christian, chording, and improvisation.
