A classically trained musician in
piano and voice, PAMELA KALT has been teaching solo
piano since her graduation from SUNY Fredonia (B.A.
Applied Music), where she studied with Distinguished
Artist-in-Residence, acclaimed author, concert pianist
and recording artist, the late Claudette Sorel.
Ms. Kalt's many successful students have studied
with her privately and also at Manhattan's St. Hilda's
& St. Hugh's Independent School near Columbia
University as well as the Lyceum Kennedy French
School. Her solo repertoire is large and varied,
and she encourages her students to explore new music
as well as the standard literature.
With time out for an enormously versatile performing
career of 15 years as a professional singer/actress,
her vast wealth of stage experience enhances her
ability to demonstrate what it takes to be a gracious
performer in front of an audience of any size. Ms.
Kalt brings her extensive professional music background
to bear as a piano instructor whose special gift
for working with children and young adults is impressive
and unique. She is a dedicated mentor, displaying
care and patience with the young beginner, as well
as a passion for imbuing her students with the love
of music and the joy of learning to play the piano.
Ms. Kalt balances an instinct for evoking the student's
trust and desire to learn, with the requisite task
of cultivating disciplined practice habits. Her
more advanced proteges' consistent growth in technical
skill, interpretation, and musicianship emanate
naturally from her guidance, inspiration and tutelage.
Her large, airy studio with new Kohler & Campbell
Grand Piano overlooks the Hudson River and Riverside
Park and is within walking distance of the Lincoln
Center for the Performing Arts.

TESTIMONIALS
"Dear Pam,
We just would like to thank you for the solid foundation
you have given Jonathan, and for your years of hard
work with him." Carol Paik, parent, New York,
N.Y.
"Dear Ms. Kalt,
Thank you for attending my graduation, and for everything
you do for me, as a teacher and as a friend. Love,
Natalia," student, N.Y., N.Y.
"Pam,
Many thanks to you for being such a wonderful teacher
to Raymond these last 8 months. We're thrilled that
he has learned so much, is proud of his accomplishments,
and especially has such a love for music and the
piano. Thank you for being so patient, supportive
and great with him." Lisa & Ray Redlingshafer,
parents, N.Y., N.Y.
"Dear Pam,
How can I ever thank you enough? You have given
me so much over the years - a solid foundation as
a pianist, a greatly expanded knowledge of music
and composers, and encouragement in so many areas.
I look forward to being able to give you occasional
phone recitals! With overflowing thanks and love,
Abby" student, N.Y., N.Y.
"....I have always been impressed with the
high quality of Pamela's teaching, which I have
had occasion to observe many times. She is always
very patient with the children she teaches, and
she is tremendously thorough in her instruction.
I was especially impressed with the high level of
repertoire she teaches her students; most children
who study with Pamela perform at a much more advanced
level than most students their age." John Colligan,
Chair, Music Department, St. Hilda's & St. Hugh's
School, Manhattan, NY
"Pamela was instrumental in not only introducing
music to my daughter, but also for her overall development
into a musically trained and talented young woman.
Lessons included not only the learning of pieces
and technique work, but also the history of music,
composers, and music theory. Her regularly organized
recitals for family and friends reflected her energy,
enthusiasm, passion for music, and love of her students."
Mercy Davidson, Ph.D., parent, N.Y., N.Y.
