Piano lessons with Mr. Carney are
fun and life-enriching. For over eight years, Mr.
Carney has been teaching students how to enjoy music
by playing the piano and discovering the diversity
of music in our world. With Mr. Carney, students
are given the opportunity to study music that they
truly enjoy while learning principles and ideas
that are fundamental to any musical education.
In the piano studio, Mr. Carney has taught beginning
through advanced students from ages 5-adult. At
the college level, he has taught courses in Music
Appreciation and Functional Piano Skills at Louisiana
State University and served on the faculty of North
Central Texas College where he also taught Music
Appreciation. Mr. Carney holds both a Masters and
Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance and has
studied with internationally recognized teachers.
Performances in recent years have taken Mr. Carney
throughout the Midwest, South, and East Coast. Competitive
performances have yielded many top prizes including
First Place in the Janice K. Hodges Contemporary
Piano Competition, First Place in the Missouri Music
Teachers' Association State Competition, and special
recognition as a Presser Scholar by The Presser
Foundation.
Mr. Carney is a member of the Music Teachers National
Association, College Music Society, Fort Worth Music
Teachers Association, and Mid-Cities Music Teachers
Association. He offers private piano lessons out
of his home in North Fort Worth.
