Kai is currently a member of the
ASCAP (American Society of Composer, Authors, and
Publishers), MTNA (Music Teachers National Association),
National Guild of Piano Teachers, Teacher Division
of American College of Musicians, AGO (American
Guild of Organists), and the National Honor Society
of Pi Kappa Lambda. In 2003 and 2004, Mr. Lin worked
as a judge for Tidewater Music Teacher Forum, Honor
Recital Audition for Piano, Levels of Progress,
Virginia Beach Federation of Music Club, Junior
Festival for Piano Solo and Duet, Music Theory Tests
at Dominion University, Ohio Federation of Music
Club, for Junior Music Festival, District III-E,
Piano Solo at University of Dayton. He also serves
as the Director of Music at the Trinity Evangelical
Lutheran Church in Norfolk, Virginia, teaching piano
and theory lessons at Norfolk Collegiate School,
Temple of Music, and his studio.
He served as the Director of Music at Corpus Christi
Church, Dayton, Ohio from 1997 to 2003, and taught
piano lessons at Hauer Music and Shaw's Music Center
in the Greater Dayton, Ohio area.
Kai was one of the major former piano accompanists,
a lecturer of music theory at the Shanghai Conservatory
of Music, and a piano teacher at the Children Music
School in that conservatory, winning the Excellent
Education Award. He received the Graduate Scholarship
and Graduate Assistantships Awards from both Ohio
University School of Music and College-Conservatory
of Music at the University of Cincinnati, working
as a piano accompanist, teaching courses of Music
Theory, Ear-Training/Sight-Singing, and completing
his graduate studies in the master and doctoral
programs with national-level honors.
Mr. Lin is also an accomplished conductor, composer,
and arranger. Some of his music compositions and
CDs are published, and warmly received by both his
audience and critics in China and USA.
