Pianist Nicole Van Hoey studied piano performance and pedagogy with MaryAnn LaLumia Hoffman and earned her International Diploma for piano performance with the Piano Guild (American College of Musicians) under MaryAnn's tutelage. Nicole has taught private lessons, accompanied string recitals, coached music ensembles, and collaborated with violinists in the Northern Virginia area for more than 20 years.
Nicole's approach to teaching is all inclusive: music exists for every person, and people of all ages can become lifelong musicians. Her teaching philosophy revolves around joy and flexibility, because not every student responds to the same methods or learns at the same pace. Nicole's private studio and online classes incorporate emerging teaching approaches into traditional classical and Suzuki methods, so every student has the opportunity to build keyboard technique and experience, regardless of learning style.
