Jacques Linder received his undergraduate degree in music at the University of Evansville and his graduate degree in piano at the University of Illinois. He subsequently studied with concert pianist Harriet Shirvan, a student of Isabella Vengerova at Curtis, and with Gabriel Chodos of the New England Conservatory of Music. Mr. Linder was adjunct Assistant Professor of Piano at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts from 1974-1990. From 1990 to 2000 he was Director of the Community Music Division and head of that division's piano program at the University of South Florida. Students of Mr. Linder have been awarded scholarships in piano at such institutions as The New England Conservatory of Music, Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, The Cleveland Institute of Music and Emory College. His students have also won numerous awards and prizes including those from the following: The Florida Orchestra Young Artists Competition (winners); The Blount Competition at Montgomery, Alabama (third prize); The Yamaha Piano Competition, both state and regional (winners): The Central Florida Orchestra Young Artists Competition (winners); The Orlando Symphony Young Artists Competition (winner); The Gilmore Prize (finalist); and the National Arts Foundation Scholarship (winner).

Mr. Linder lives in St. Petersburg and teaches private lessons to intermediate and advanced piano students, including adults, in St. Petersburg and Tampa, (Telephone 727-821-8705). He performs solo and chamber recitals frequently and has recorded for Neuma (Massachusetts), Capstone (New York), and 3-D Classics (Paris, France) labels.
