Beverly Carroll
Piano Teacher Franklin, Tennessee
Bev Carroll began her formal piano training in 1969 in Des Moines Iowa at Open Bible College and under instructors of Drake University. She continued studies through instruction at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois. A move to Bloomington, Illinois took her to studies through Wesleyan College. There she began some piano instruction out of her home.

She has also accompanied stage and recording artists, performed in churches and Christian womens Clubs and taught improvisation to church pianists. After moving to Franklin, TN in 1980, she was employed with the Music Business Dept. of Belmont University. Later she began her private teaching Studio and it quickly grew to 60 students.

Bev has served as an officer for several Music organizations in the Nashville Area, including the Nashville Piano Guild, serving as President twice and is a board member for the Nashville Piano Achievement Competition. She served on a panel of judges for Steinway's Fun Competition in 2008 and 2009. She has served as organist and choir conductor for Redeemer Lutheran Church as well as St. Matthews Catholic Church. She presently attends Parish Presbyterian Church in Franklin, TN and does supply work as pianist, singer and worship leader. She actively mentors new piano teachers in the area.

Currently, Bev has an active Piano Studio with students from beginner through advanced levels, including adults. Guild and Festival participation is encouraged but not required. Students study theory, improvisation, ear training, technique, and composition. All styles of music are offered. Many students have achieved careers in music by advancing as Music Majors at the collegiate level.

Mrs. Bev Carroll's unique style of teaching is sure to enrich and enhance each student's endeavors in pursuing their particular interest in music....whether it is professional or for their own enjoyment.

Testimonial:  I took lessons from Mrs. Bev Carroll for 9 years, during which time she instilled in me a love and passion for music. She gave me many opportunities to improve my performance skills during those years by encouraging me to participate in recitals, contests, Pianorama, and Guild auditions every year. Mrs. Carroll also did an excellent job preparing me to major in music in college. The knowledge of theory I received from her prepared me well for music theory classes. She prepared me so well in the area of technique that I was able to pass the technique test my first semester. Mrs. Carroll has a passion for teaching and is dedicated to her job. Testimonial:  "The time I spent under Miss Bev's studio was extremely enjoyable for me as I pursued my study of piano and I am very grateful I had the opportunity of studying under such a great teacher. I greatly appreciated Miss Bev's kindness and personable teaching style and how she challenged me to grow as a musician. She encouraged me in many areas of playing piano and would also help me in areas other than just playing. She exposed me to many different styles of music and piano which made me a very versatile musician. She helped me with writing and composing as well and even helped me to learn improvisational playing. This was very encouraging for me as I started to grow as a young musician because it opened up many other opportunities for me on the piano. The music theory I learned from her was also incredibly helpful and it was exactly what I needed to prepare me for a college level of piano and theory. Theory would have been such a difficult aspect of college music major if I had not been so thoroughly exposed to it by Miss Bev." o Callum Sears 2009

Title:  Testimonial 2005
Testimonial:  o I was privileged to take piano lessons from Mrs. Beverly Carroll for 10 years. Her passion and love for music is contagious. Within those 10 years, I was exposed to in-depth technique and theory training as well as multiple recitals to build up my confidence as a performer. She is heavily involved in the musical community as a teacher and involves her students in yearly competitions such as Guild Auditions and Pianorama. The most important aspect that I wish to highlight about Mrs. Carroll, is her uncanny ability to listen to her students' preferences and, most at her own time expense, search out pieces to support and foster the interest of that student. She truly is an impressive and dedicated piano teacher. • Rachel Lynn Fox 2005
